It’s been confirmed that Rob will return to Weatherfield in upcoming scenes and end up in a stand-off with Lisa and Carla Connor
Coronation Street fans ‘know’ how DS Lisa Swain survives the shock armed siege that has been revealed in a brand-new trailer. It’s been confirmed that Rob Donovan will return to Weatherfield in upcoming scenes.
The murderer, who is currently on the run, will make his way back onto the Street where he’ll seek out Carla Connor and demand she helps him escape after she thought she left him for dead in scenes aired last month.
As armed police surround the house, it is revealed Carla isn’t alone, with a trailer showing Lisa by her partner’s side. But will they escape? As a shot rings out, who is the latest victim of Rob’s desperate bid to be a free man?
The new couple haven’t had the easiest starts to their relationship with Lisa’s job keeping her busy and an unexpected decline in Carla’s health at the start of the year. As fans saw, Carla was rushed to hospital with sepsis and was later informed by a doctor she’d have to undergo a kidney transplant, having first had one after her half-brother Aidan donated the organ back in 2018.
It was later Rob Donovan who came to Carla’s rescue after he was approached by his son, Bobby Crawford, to help his older sister as her life hung in the balance.
But earlier in February, fans were horrified when Carla was woken from her recovery by prison officer Mandy, who believed she was in a loving relationship with Rob, when really it was all for his own gain as he plotted to escape prison. The drama eventually saw Rob use DS Lisa Swain to get to the abandoned office block where Mandy was waiting with a poorly Carla.

He was shocked to find out about Mandy’s pregnancy and realising she had been used, she left. Rob attempted to follow suit. But Carla found the energy to push her brother down the stairs, and a weakened Rob, as a result of his surgery, saw him fall over the balcony, with Lisa finding him at the bottom.
With a trailer teasing Rob’s return, Corrie fans have been analysing what they’ve seen so far and while some think Lisa could find herself being shot by Rob, others think there’s a very clear reason while she’ll be able to survive.

She is hurt so hospital scenes will happen but Carla,Betsy and Lisa on the ward and share a moment of how they all love each other, cue the road to the fam being closer #swarla.”
