Coronation Street star Sydney Martin has melted fans’ hearts with comments about her co-stars who she works the closest with on the cobbles.
The actress made her debut in the ITV soap last year as Betsy Swain, the previously unseen daughter of DS Lisa Swain.
Back in July, the character was revealed as the daughter of the detective sergeant, played by Vicky Myers, having initially been introduced as a friend of Sabrina Adetiba amid the Joel Deering grooming storyline.
Sydney has now found herself not only working with much-loved actress Vicky, but Lisa’s relationship with Carla Connor means she’s also been taking under the wing of Corrie icon Alison King.
It’s in videos shared by fans online after Sydney took part in a live Q&A with co-star Cait Fitton that the new soap star was heard talking about her relationship with her on-screen mum and possible new step-mum.
One fan asked Sydney: “How does it feel to have Vicky & Ali as your onscreen mums?” to which she replied: “You really couldn’t ask for better I am very, very lucky,” before Cait also interjected: “You are so looked after by them.”

It comes after Cait teased fans and told them to ‘keep watching’ as she was quizzed about working with Sydney in another Q&A session she held on her own Instagram page.
One said: “Have you done any filming with Sydney [Martin] aka Betsy [Swain]?” to which she replied: “Me and Syd have worked together in the previous storyline briefly.” As she shared a video of the pair playing about in their dressing room, Cait added: “Never a dull moment when I’m in @sydneymartin’s presence.”
It led another fan to ask: “Are there any Lauren and Betsy scenes planned?” to which Cait teased: “Guess you’ll just have to keep watching to find out!”
But it appears some think the pair could pass for being siblings – either off-screen or on. Another of Cait’s followers said: “You and Sydney definitely look so alike it’s crazy.” In response, the soap star replied: “Sista from another mista, me and my gyal @sydneymartin_.”
