Coronation Street fans have said they ‘feel sick’ as they reacted to the news that DS Lisa Swain and Carla Connor are set to face danger in upcoming scenes.

The new couple haven’t had the easiest starts to their relationship with Lisa’s job keeping her busy and an unexpected decline in Carla’s health at the start of the year.

As fans saw, Carla was rushed to hospital with sepsis and was later informed by a doctor she’d have to undergo a kidney transplant, having first had one after her half-brother Aidan donated the organ back in 2018.

It was later Rob Donovan who came to Carla’s rescue after he was approached by his son, Bobby Crawford, to help his older sister as her life hung in the balance.

But earlier in February, fans were horrified when Carla was woken from her recovery by prison officer Mandy, who believed she was in a loving relationship with Rob, when really it was all for his own gain as he plotted to escape prison.

The drama eventually saw Rob use DS Lisa Swain to get to the abandoned office block where Mandy was waiting with a poorly Carla. He was shocked to find out about Mandy’s pregnancy and realising she had been used, she left.

Rob attempted to follow suit. But Carla found the energy to push her brother down the stairs, and a weakened Rob, as a result of his surgery, saw him fall over the balcony, with Lisa finding him at the bottom.

Now, a new trailer that teases what’s to come on the cobbles in March has confirmed Rob’s shock return to the Street. He will return to Weatherfield to seek out his sister Carla and demand she helps him escape.

As armed police surround the house, will Carla and Lisa escape? As a shot rings out, who is the latest victim of Rob’s desperate bid to be a free man?

Following the release of the trailer on Friday (February 28), Corrie fans flocked to social media to share their thoughts. @SwainsCoat said: “Going to be sick.” @missmollybruton sarcastically wrote: “Oh fantastic. Rob has a gun. And is holding them hostage in number 1! #Swarla.”

@PinkWelshGirl11 commented: “OMG!!!!!
