Coronation Street is off air this evening due to a schedule change on ITV, whilst Emmerdale is also affected by the change due to the football
Coronation Street will not air this evening due to a schedule change on ITV – and Emmerdale is also affected.
The ITV soaps usually both air on a Friday evening, with Emmerdale airing at 7.30pm for half an hour before Coronation Street airs at 8pm for an hour. However, tonight that will not be the case as the soaps have moved time for the football.
This evening, Live FA football between Aston Villa and Cardiff will air from 7.30pm, with Mark Pougatch, Roy Keane and Ian Wright taking on presenting duties when the match kicks off at 8pm. As a result, Emmerdale has been moved forward to 7pm for half an hour and Coronation Street will not air tonight. Although fans worried they are missing out on their soaps need not be too concerned as Coronation Street aired today’s episode yesterday.
On tonight’s episode of Emmerdale, there is heartbreak ahead for Jacob as he continues to struggle with the grief of losing his mum Leyla. Leyla tragically died in the limo crash last week, alongside Suzy and Amy, who also lost their lives.

Elsewhere, April is struggling when she overhears two girls speaking about her and her ordeal. Fans of the show will remember that April ran away from home after finding out she was pregnant but tragically, the baby was stillborn.
On last night’s episode of Coronation Street, Kevin received more bad news, with Abi desperately trying to help him. She said she’d cancel her therapy session to spend the afternoon with him but Kevin wouldn’t allow it. Clearly struggling with all that’s going on, Kevin was fuming to see Abi and Ronnie chatting about her therapy session after seeing them laughing together.
Elsewhere, Cassie visited Ken in hospital after her crimes were revealed, whilst Dylan had seemingly made friends with another boy called Brody in the Secure Training Centre, but is it all it seems?
Meanwhile, David continued to make out to Shona that he is doing some home visit barbering to try and get some extra cash, but he’s been busy working with Andy. David tells Andy he needs more jobs, and as many as he can. What danger lies ahead for David?
A new soap schedule will come into force in the new year, which will see the soaps cut down from six hours a week to just five, with Emmerdale and Coronation Street airing for half an hour every day one after another.
