Anthony’s final resting place was shared as John Sugden opened up
Emmerdale fans finally discovered where Anthony Fox’s body has been buried as John Sugden led the group to where he left him. However, they’re convinced that he’s not telling the truth as they call out his “lie”.
Anthony Fox became the first confirmed death of 2025 after Ruby found him bleeding on the floor of the depot in the aftermath of Aaron Dingle attacking him.
Nicholas Day joined the ITV soap in 2025 with Georgia Jay (Steph) as the pair entered the village for the first time. Ruby struggled with seeing her estranged father upon his arrival, and it was soon revealed that he had abused her repeatedly when she was a teenager.
While she tried to hide the resurfacing trauma, viewers watched flashbacks of Ruby’s sixteenth birthday and it was later revealed that he had also fathered Steph after she received the results from a DNA test.
As Caleb found out about his father-in-law’s heinous crimes, Anthony managed to escape his death sentence at first as he fled the scene without a single bullet wound after Caleb confronted him at a secluded barn.
However, he made his way to the depot and was greeted by a furious Aaron who was set on getting justice for Ruby. In a twist, Anthony told Aaron that it was a “special bond” between him and Ruby, before taunting him that she enjoyed it and added that Aaron enjoyed it too.
In 2016, Emmerdale aired a storyline of Aaron Dingle sharing the story of how he was abused repeatedly by his biological father Gordon Livesy from eight-years-old. Gordon was sentenced for his crimes but never served his full punishment as he killed himself while in prison.

Aaron saw red and threw several deadly punches towards him, knocking Anthony to the floor as he left him bleeding. He returned later with boyfriend John Sugden who confirmed he had died and offered to clean up the crime scene and remove any evidence a long with his body.
Although Ruby later admitted she was the one who stopped Anthony from breathing, Aaron still struggled to come to terms with the fact that John had hidden the body.
Until now, fans had no idea where John had laid Anthony to rest and it was assumed he was in the lake alongside the floating body of Nate Robinson.
During Wednesday’s (26th February) episode, John led Ruby, Aaron, Caleb, Chas and Cain to the site where he supposedly hid Anthony’s body. It was revealed to be in the middle of the woods underneath a tree trunk. “This is where he is. This is your father’s resting place” John told Ruby as she struggled to contain her emotions.
However, fans aren’t convinced as on Instagram @florrahaven wrote: “I don’t believe for one minute that Anthony’s buried there” and @misssophieevans added: “I don’t think the body is there at all. He kept it from them for a reason”.
@jasmin4u2021 questioned: “Why does it feel like Johns lying about Anthony’s body being where it is?” and @avapp05 echoed: “Anthony isn’t buried there, too easy to find.”
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
