EastEnders’ Cindy Beale’s revenge plot against Kathy ‘sealed’ as Michelle Collins ‘exits’

EastEnders fans saw Cindy Beale leave Albert Square at the end of tonight’s episode – but fans don’t think it’ll be the last of her as she promised ‘revenge’ on Kathy and Ian

It was another emotional night in EastEnders on Tuesday as the aftermath of Martin Fowler’s tragic death continued. Meanwhile, Cindy Beale decided it was time for her to leave the Sqaure.

However, fans are certain it won’t be the last we hear and see of Cindy – as she ‘promises’ to get her revenge on Kathy and Ian. It’s been an eventful few days for Cindy (Michelle Collins). After two months of investigating, she found out her Christmas Day attacker was her mother-in-law, Kathy Beale. After, she ‘accidentally’ shot Ian in the arm during an altercation – as well as pushing him in front of Reiss Colwell’s speeding car. As Reiss swerved, he ended up crashing into gas canisters in the Queen Vic – causing the devastating explosion. Cindy herself ended up in hospital, after Kathy saved her from getting crushed.

Although Cindy was reluctant to keep Kathy’s secret to herself in exchange of money from Ian at first – the fear of everyone finding out the true reason behind Reiss’ crash got the better of her. During Tuesday’s episode, she told Ian she “wanted her stolen money back”. Ian then agreed to give Cindy ‘her money’ back, under one condition – she disappears.

Later on in the episode, Cindy gathered the Knight and Beale families and told them she didn’t feel safe living in the Square with someone who tried to kill her. She revealed she was going to stay with Gita – and may come back when she’s mentally stronger.

It doesn’t look like Kathy and Ian are off the hook however, as before entering the tube station Junior exclaimed: “I don’t understand why you’re letting Ian get away with this,” to which Cindy replied: “Oh, no one’s getting away with anything, but I’m just happy to let them think that they have. For now.”

Fans don’t think it’s the last they’ll see of Cindy – as they’re certain she’ll be back to get revenge on Ian and Kathy. Taking to social media, one fan penned: “It’s definitely not the last we’ll see of Cindy. Gillian Taylforth teased last week that the story is far from over. I think she’ll be back in a few months with eyes on revenge. #EastEnders”.

But how will she get her revenge? Nothing is off limits for Cindy as viewers in the 90s saw her hire a hitman for Ian. However, fans think she’ll be going down a ‘better route’ this time – but it won’t be good news for Kathy. “I’d like for Cindy not to be redeemed, but her villainous side to be put to rest for a little bit. Use the money from the Beales to get her own business and then take over the Albert from Kathy, leading to more feuding scenes between them.”

Another agreed: “I think they should give her a new route, let her start a business and work on herself,” as another said: “I can confirm I think she’ll be back for revenge. Although it will be some respite that she’s taking a break.”

Michelle Collins first joined EastEnders in 1988, and was presumed to have died during childbirth in prison ten years later. However, in 2023, Cindy made a surprise return to the soap – revealing she had been under witness protection as Rose Knight the ‘missing’ wife of George Knight. It was also revealed she had two daughters, Anna and Gina.

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
