ITV Emmerdale Suzy star admits ‘I am not ok’ after sudden exit from the Dales

Martelle Edinborough addressed her unexpected departure from the soap

Emmerdale star Martelle Edinborough admitted “I am not ok” after her character Suzy was killed off in the horror limo crash on Monday (17th February).

Martelle joined the ITV soap in 2022 as Suzy Merton and was introduced as the new love interest for Vanessa. While the couple had their ups and downs, they became a well-liked addition to the village.

However, fans sensed that something was off with the pair after Suzy was acting shifty around Vanessa, and struggled to tell her she loved her back. Unfortunately, any potential reconciliation can no longer happen as Martelle officially left the Dales.

On Friday (14th February), 17 villagers prepared for a night out as they rented out two separate limos. While both ended up crashing in separate instances, it was the girls limo (that also included Liam Cavanagh) that crashed into the frozen lake.

Suzy became the first confirmed death after Liam pronounced her dead at the scene after she hit her head during the impact of the crash.

That wasn’t the end of the tragedy, however, as her body was left on its own inside the limo as the vehicle submerged fully underneath the water.

Taking to her Instagram, the actress posted a carousel of behind the scenes shots, and wrote: “Well what a Week!!! I am not OK! Talk about an emotional rollercoaster!! Suzy, Leyla, Amy!!

“I genuinely haven’t known where to start with this post as there’s so much I want to say and my brain has not been braining so it’s taken a minute but I’m going to start by saying firstly how beyond blessed and grateful I feel to have been given the chance to bring Suzy Merton to life on your screens!!
