The actor, who is known for playing Billy Mayhew in Weatherfield, has recently reminded fans of his Emmerdale stint

Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank has been reunited with one of his Emmerdale star pals who he says he’s been friends with for ’20 years’.

The actor, who is known for playing Billy Mayhew in Weatherfield, is no stranger for having appeared in the Dales – or Walford for that matter – as he appeared in a number of other shows before he made the Corrie cobbles his home.

Daniel portrayed Ivan Jones in Emmerdale from May 2005 until August 2006, appearing in 107 episodes in total. Ivan was originally introduced to participate in a storyline about the character of Jarvis Skelton and only meant to feature in three episodes.

But Daniel impressed enough in the role to be kept on and Ivan was later seen embarking on a relationship with Paul Lambert, the brother of Dales mainstay Nicola King.

He also appeared in a number of other TV shows, including Waterloo Road, Midsomer Murders, The Bill, Doctors, Casualty and Holby City, before he joined the cast of Corrie in 2014 as Billy and has remained a regular on the soap ever since.

But Daniel recently teased fans with a return to Emmerdale. Posting a selfie outside of the Leeds-based studio on his Instagram page, the soap star said: “Oooooh what’s going on here then?”

Now, Daniel has revealed that he was reunited with Nicola Wheeler, who has played the role of Nicola since 2001, and shared a photo of the pair sharing a giggle behind-the-scenes.

Captioning the post, he gushed: “Laughter is the best medicine! For 20 years, whenever we get together all we do is laugh. I adore this woman.”

Emmerdale’s Vanessa Woodfield star Michelle Hardwick was quick to respond as she wrote on the comments section: “Love her [red heart emoji].” Laura Norton, who stars as Kerry Wyatt in the ITV soap, also commented: “Me too. She’s the best.”

And Daniel’s fans and followers were also thrilled to see the pair reunited. @jordsdanx said: “Ivan and Nicola in 2025.” @annettemontgomery392 replied: “Awww love this. So lovely to see. Loved your time in Emmerdale all those years ago.”

@spoilerdale.x screamed: “IVAN AND NICOLA!!!!” @gerardineahern wrote: “Awww love you two. Legends.” @missl.2021 added: “I’ve watched you when you were both on emmerdale (before the re runs) to see the friendship striving.”
