Actress Vicky Myers much-loved among fans of the ITV soap for playing the detective sergeant

Coronation Street fans have revealed that they’re keen for DS Lisa Swain’s family to be expanded on the cobbles and think they have found the perfect person and role.

Actress Vicky Myers much-loved among fans of the ITV soap for playing the detective sergeant, but it’s only in the past year that viewers have seen more of her.

Vicky was first seen as Lisa in 2021 when she led the police investigation into the assaults on Nina Lucas and Seb Franklin which led to the latter’s death.

That was before she later received backlash from Daisy Midgeley after the police didn’t stop her stalker Justin Rutherford before he launched a horrific acid attack on her wedding day.

She was then seen hunting down serial killer Stephen Reid back in October 2023 but it wasn’t until early last year that it was confirmed that Vicky would become a regular cast member in the role of Lisa, with her being thrown straight into the Lauren Bolton disappearance storyline.

But while her career is of high-importance to her, fans are now getting more and more insight into Lisa’s personal life thanks to her daughter Betsy, played by Sydney Martin, arriving on screen last year and her new romance with cobbles favourite Carla Connor, played by Alison King.

Fans, however, want even more for Lisa and the Swain’s as they think more of her family members should make their way to Weatherfield.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, @swarlanations said: “This year I need Lisa’s mother to be cast and I need it to be Amanda Redman. She needs to play Mother Swain, who had Lisa as a young teen and resented her for it, causing them to be estranged. And for those wondering, there is an 18 year age gap between the actresses.”
