Emmerdale fans have ‘worked out’ the shock secret Suzy Merton was hiding before her death

Emmerdale fans have ‘rumbled’ what Suzy Merton was hiding from girlfriend Vanessa Woodfield before her shock death.

Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) first set foot in the Dales back in 2022. And it didn’t take her long to become a firm favourite with fans, as well as play a part in several big storylines.

Most famously, she was in a relationship with Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick). The pair became a beloved couple on the soap – but they had their fair share of obstacles, including Suzy’s drug past.

However, over on the soap this week, fans were left devastated when Suzy was killed off during a shock stunt. Viewers watched with their jaws on the floor as two limos, filled with 17 villagers, crashed – leaving them all in danger.

But it was the ladies limo that ended up getting plunged into an icy lake after Charity (Emma Atkins) veered off the road to avoid hitting Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) who was wandering around alone and confused.

In a tragic turn of events, the crash resulted in the death of Suzy who hit her head on the roof of the vehicle. Terrified, the others then managed to escape from the sinking limo.

**Fans have ‘worked out’ what Suzy was hiding**

Once the ladies were all out and on dry land, in heartbreaking scenes, Vanessa watched the limo sink into the lake, taking down her beloved girlfriend Suzy.

But now, fans are convinced that Suzy was hiding something major from Vanessa. Sharing their thoughts online, fans think she was having an affair with Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson).

“I think Mary and Suzy were having an affair and it will all come out now. Remember Mary blowing a kiss at her before they got in the Limo,” said one person on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page.

Other fans agreed, with a second person pointing out: “Suzie wasn’t for telling ness she loved her back in the limo, I think something was odd.” A third agreed: “There was something on Suzie’s mind in the limo.”

Echoing their thoughts, another viewer declared: “100%. Suzy was definitely going to tell her in the limo.” A fifth chimed in: “Good call actually I do think they are having an affair.”
