Emmerdale reveals who gets trapped in icy lake – and it’s not who you think it is

Emmerdale has aired the aftermath of the deadly limo stunt and it’s not looking good for multiple characters as they fight for the lives

Emmerdale has confirmed which character finds themselves trapped in the icy lake after the deadly limo stunt – and they’re not alone in the water.

Monday’s (February 17) episode, which is now available to watch on ITVX, has revealed the aftermath of the limo crash after Friday’s (February 14) cliffhanger episode.

17 villagers found themselves in danger as two groups headed on a night out but they both ended up crashing during the journey.

The women’s limo carried Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson), Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh), Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick), Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough), Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).

Meanwhile, the men’s limo was filled with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), Sam Dingle (James Hooton), Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards), Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), Caleb Miligan (Will Ash), Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) Paddy Dingle (Dominic Brunt) and Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), after she decided to swap with Liam.

The crash saw the girls’ limo plunge into an icy lake, putting the passengers in grave danger. Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) was pronounced dead following the crash after smacking her head in roof of the vehicle and one-by-one the others planned to escape the sinking limo.

Will Amy Barton survive?

Chas, Liam, Charity, Vanessa managed to make it to safety but the ice cracked as Amy walked along and she ended up sinking into the icy lake but will she survive? In another shocking twist, she appeared to see another body under the lake but who’s is it? Kerry and Leyla both remain in the limo with Suzy but will they all make it out alive?

Elsewhere, Liam collapsed as he made it to safety on solid ground with those close by rushing to try and help him and Caleb brutally attacked Cain after confronting him about sleeping with his wife Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly).

Driver Charity (Emma Atkins) revealed she swerved after seeing her son Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) in the middle of the road. What Noah is doing on the road remains to be seen but, assuming she survives, Charity will want answers.

Speaking about filming the stunt, Roxy Shahidi recently said: “Obviously, they’ve pulled out all the stops. “I’m guessing a hell of a lot of money must have been spent, as it is a really epic stunt. I think it really will go down in Emmerdale history without a doubt.”

“I think the thing that was most enjoyable for me was the camaraderie on set. It was such a fantastic, gorgeous group of girls that I was working with.

“It was just a really lovely atmosphere. So supported, so loving and we just had a fantastic time.” She added: “It was so real I felt cold just looking at it. They covered the carpark in wax but there were holes dug in it. So there were massive holes in it – that people could actually fall in.

“And they got the car with its passengers to break through this wax surface layer and then slip down under. I just don’t know how they did it – it is beyond my knowledge – all I know is it looked really good. When I arrived saw the set the moon was out and reflecting off the ice – it was just stunning.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and available to stream from 7am on ITVX
