The teen emerged from hospital for the first time since nearly dying in a horror blaze in the Platt family home
Coronation Street fans have demanded a return to the cobbles as Max Turner’s exit from the cobbles was ‘sealed’. The teen emerged from hospital for the first time since nearly dying in a horror blaze in the Platt family home.
Earlier this month, viewers of the ITV soap saw a rag soaked in petrol was posted through the house’s front door along with some lit matches. The family, who were celebrating Saah Platt’s birthday in the Bistro, were soon alerted to the fire by their neighbours as it quickly took hold.
With David Platt not around, and fearing Lily was in the house, Shona Platt and Max Turner headed inside with Nick Tilsley, who was left rescuing an unconscious Toyah Habeeb, who had been attacked by Abi Webster.
But Shona and Max were quickly left trapped inside the empty house and while Shona managed to escape, with her horrified husband David waiting on the other side, Max was left stuck as the house exploded. He was later pulled from the burning property and was rushed to hospital where he was placed in a coma.
Luckily, the teen has since woken from his coma but he faced Shona’s wrath during the latest trip to Weatherfield on Monday night (February 10) as she discovered it was Max who set their home alight as he attempted to help David with the money he owes gangster Harvey Gaskell.

During Wednesday night’s (February 12) trip to the cobbles, David was told that new evidence had been found and he quickly knew what that meant. He headed to the hospital and told Shona ahead of Max being discharged.
DC Kit Green and PC Craig Tinker soon began a search for Max, with David and Shona claiming they had no idea where he was. At his hideout, Max’s girlfriend Lauren Bolton was furious when she learned what he had done, particularly after making promises to be a dad to her baby son Frankie.
David put in a call to Max’s aunt Becky Grainger, played by Katherine Kelly, who has been living in Belize with her partner Ian. She confirmed that the couple were willing to help Max by taking him in and giving him a job. But will Max’s escape plan work?

Fans, meanwhile, were distracted by the mention of Becky who departed the cobbles back in 2012, jetting off to Barbados with then boyfriend Danny Stratton.

Please let this mean her return looms I will have to go into hospital if I see her again! #corrie.” @CHG3899 added: “A nice Becky mention. She’s obviously not with Danny anymore. It would be great if Katherine made a cameo for at least one episode… #Corrie.”
