Coronation Street fans think they have ‘figured out’ who dies when Carla Connor is taken hostage in upcoming scenes having undergone another kidney transplant.

The much-loved character’s health has been in decline ever since she was rushed to hospital with sepsis in January. She was informed by a doctor she’d have to undergo a kidney transplant, having first had one after her half-brother Aidan donated the organ back in 2018.

Last month, it was Carla’s nephew Bobby Crawford who was seen bringing Rob back into Carla’s life after several years. Carla’s younger sibling, and the former fiancé of Tracy Barlow, is currently in prison after being handed a life sentence for the murder of Tina McIntyre.

But with Carla’s health taken a serious downward turn, Bobby went to his dad to encourage him to help her. While he initially refused, Rob eventually agreed to be tested, much to Carla’s initial disapproval.

Fans were quick to think there was more to Rob’s offer and it was then during Monday night’s (February 10) episode of the ITV soap, that they was proved right. They saw Carla’s partner DS Lisa Swain paid Rob a visit in hospital where he had been rushed to after suffering an allergic reaction to medication he’s always been allergic to.

With Carla sent on a wild goose chase in the hospital, Lisa was quick to realise that Rob is having an affair with prison guard Mandy and that the two of them are plotting his escape whilst he waits at the hospital to donate his kidney. Convincing Rob to go ahead with the operation, Lisa promises to try and get his conviction overturned.

But a new trailer and pictures for next week’s episodes have revealed that Rob is willing to go to any lengths to escape jail and he has no qualms about who he hurts in the process. With both Carla and Rob recovering from the kidney donation operation the stakes are high as Rob attacks a male security guard and steals his uniform, before taking Carla with him as he flees the hospital, with. Lisa hot on their heels.

Corrie fans have since tried to work out what may happen in the scenes, and think a death could be on the cards. @TVMusings22 said: “It seems all eyes are on Lisa, she won’t have done it, kb said she likes surprises in soap so I’m guessing it’s either Betsy or Ryan for the shock factor! I think Mandy will get murdered in cold blood, I don’t think Rob is even dead, he’ll go on the run and Bobby will know #corrie.”

Rob pretends he’s still on Mandy’s side, but ultimately he’s just wanting to save his sister and double-crosses Mandy. #swarla.” @swarlastruffles shared: “I’m really starting to believe that Rob shoots Mandy. After today’s ep it’s clear that Carla & Rob still care about each other and despite Rob wanting to be free I don’t think he could go through with hurting his sister.
